This August, we’re rolling out an important major OTA update for all SLAM XCAM 2025 models and the latest 2026 models.
The biggest highlight is the addition of 8K 50FPS HDR spatial video recording, bringing a major leap in motion smoothness, dynamic range, and overall image quality.
🎥 1. New 8K 50FPS Spatial Video Recording
- Added support for 8K 50FPS spatial video recording.
- The camera records two synchronized left-eye and right-eye 50FPS video streams, delivering smoother motion and a more immersive spatial experience.
🌈 2. Full HDR Video Support — Including 8K50 HDR
- HDR recording is now available across the full video lineup.
- 8K 50FPS now also supports HDR recording.
- Dynamic range, highlight preservation, shadow detail, and overall image quality have all been significantly improved.
🌌 3. New “Star Sea” Artistic Backgrounds for Fisheye Mode
- Added a new Star Sea series of artistic backgrounds for fisheye shooting.
- The traditional black border around fisheye footage is no longer the only option.
- A star-filled surrounding background gives fisheye content a more refined and premium visual style.
📷 4. New High-Precision Fisheye Distortion Correction
- Integrated a new and more accurate fisheye calibration and distortion-correction model.
- Projected images now deliver straighter lines and better geometric accuracy.
Native output modes now include:
- 180°
- 190°
- Fisheye
The 190° fisheye output provides additional image area for horizon stabilization and EIS cropping workflows.
We have also further optimized the standard 3D spatial video output mode.
🔋 5. Lower Power Consumption
- Added the option to disable the preview while recording.
- This can significantly reduce system power consumption during long recording sessions.
🛠️ 6. Improved System Stability
- Multiple system-level optimizations have been introduced to improve overall reliability and recording stability.
Most importantly, this update is available not only for the latest SLAM XCAM 2026 models, but also for all SLAM XCAM 2025 models.
We have now been providing continuous OTA updates to our 2025 users for 15 months, continuously adding new features, improving image quality, and extending the capabilities of the cameras already in users’ hands.
